It’s okay

15 Feb

It’s Okay…if at age 18 you don’t know what you want to go to college for.
It’s Okay…if after high school you don’t go straight to college.
It’s Okay…to not know what you’re doing with your life.
It’s Okay…to need help.
It’s Okay…to not be okay.
It’s Okay…to not know what you want to do with your life, even at 25+ years of age.
It’s Okay…to take part time classes.
It’s Okay…to work right after high school – college is expensive.
It’s Okay…to feel like a failure.  They say from failure rises success.
It’s Okay…to work a ‘dead-end’ job for a few years to earn money.
It’s Okay…to take a variety of classes not related to your major.  Hobbies are what keeps you sane.
It’s Okay…to turn your hobby into a job.
It’s Okay…to be LGBT.  No, you’re not ‘too young’ to know.
It’s Okay…to be bisexual.  You’re not “on the fence” or confused.  You don’t need to “pick one.”
It’s Okay…to be nerdy or geeky.  John Green has a fantastic quote about nerds.
It’s Okay…to not be perfect.  No one is.
It’s Okay…to not believe in a higher power.
It’s Okay…to not follow your parents beliefs.
It’s Okay…to need to go to counselling.
It’s Okay…to need to take meds for a mental illness.
It’s Okay…to need to take a mental health day from life occasionally.
It’s Okay…to enjoy coloring – at any age.
It’s Okay…to play on the play ground.
It’s Okay…to be you.

You are awesome – and that’s okay.
